"We need to truly be "All Together Now" and stand united in opposition to government decisions which are not in the best interests of Canadians!" - Cathy MacKinnon, PEIUPSE/NUPGE member.

All Together Now logo winner letter writing contest tax fairness public servicesOttawa (16 Mar. 2011) - Two new winners have been announced in the All Together Now! campaign's "Send a message to Harper" letter writing contest. The contest asks people to write a letter to the Prime Minister about tax fairness.

Congratulations to Cathy MacKinnon, member of the Prince Edward Island Union of Public Sector Employees (PEIUPSE/NUPGE) and Health Science Association of Alberta (HSAA/NUPGE) member Jodi Skage on their $100 win!

In her letter, MacKinnon, a casual licensed practical nurse at Kings County Hospital in Montague, PEI wrote, "Canadians are looking to the federal government to invest revenues into public services for the people of Canada, not to assist businesses in growing their profit margin. I, like most Canadians, am more than willing to pay my fair share of personal taxes... as long as I know that there is a balance between corporate and personal taxes so that the middle class and the working poor are not paying more than their fair share."

She believes we need to truly be "All Together Now" and stand united in opposition to government decisions which are not in the best interests of Canadians!

Skage is a Forensic Psychometrist for the criminal justice system in Calgary. She supports quality public services and closing the gap in economic inequality across Canada.

Draws take place every Friday at noon.
