Last minute settlement reached at Community Living Prince Edward

Strike avoided as OPSEU/NUPGE members accept tentative agreement.

Toronto (02 Nov. 2012) - Workers at Community Living Prince Edward (CLPE) represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE) reached a last minute deal on October 26 narrowly avoiding a strike deadline.

The employer came forward with a long-awaited reasonable offer during a final day of mediation. Workers had been without a contract since March 2012.

A ratification vote was scheduled for October 30.

Workers at Community Living Prince Edward provide supports and services to more than 400 children, youth and adults with intellectual disabilities and their families in the community.
