The DHA's included in this vote are: South Shore Health Authority, South West Health Authority, Annapolis Valley Health Authority, Colchester East Hants Health Authority, Cumberland Health Authority, Pictou County Health Authority, Guysborough Antigonish Strait Health Authority and Cape Breton Health Authority.

“This collective agreement was a long time coming,” said Joan Jessome, NSGEU President. “We are glad to get this one behind us and we are getting right back into the next round of negotiations.”

The new collective agreement has a two-year term from April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2012. Other than a one per cent increase for each year of this two-year agreement, it provides a number of improvements to provisions such as stand-by and call-back rates, meal allowance, retention allowance, shift premiums, vacation entitlements, the licensed practical nurse (RPN) late career nursing incentive bonus and voluntary severance.
