Fredericton (18 Aug. 2016) — The Information Technology group at New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) have made history by officially signing its first collective agreement.
Great day for members
The bargaining component, represented by the New Brunswick Union (NBU/NUPGE), put pen to paper on the deal during a ceremony at the NBCC offices in Fredericton.
The agreement is for 5 years and 3 months beginning March 1, 2014 and ending May 31, 2019.
"This is a great day for our members," said NBU President Susie Proulx-Daigle. "They have worked hard to arrive at this deal and we're proud of this achievement."
Members' work is vital in community college
Members of the group work in the various NBCC campuses throughout the province in several roles including information technology technicians, application administrators, help desk analysts, analysts, technicians, administrators and managers.
A total of 19 groups represented by the NBU/NUPGE have either reached a tentative agreement, ratified a deal or officially signed a new contract in the past 12 months.
