PEIUPSE health care workers make progress in negotiations

Bargaining for PEI health care workers moves forward.

Charlottetown (16 May 2012) - Negotiations continue toward a new collective agreement between the PEI Union of Public Sector Employees (PEIUPSE/NUPGE) and the Department of Health.

Proposals forms were circulated to affected members and health category representatives met for three days in January 2012 to prepare a bargaining agenda. The union exchanged negotiating packages with management on May 1 and the parties met for three days on May 8, 9 and 10.

Significant progress was made during those initial days and further dates have been established for early June.
