Leonard Peltier
Leonard Peltier is still locked behind bars in an American prison—still condemned to serve out a double life sentence for the 1975 shooting deaths of two FBI agents.
It is wrong because there is no solid evidence even to accuse Leonard Peltier of the deaths—let alone convict him. He has been the victim of a campaign of mis-information. Evidence tampered with – coerced witnesses – outright lies.
Canada has a role in this injustice. His extradition from Canada was based on evidence that was later proven to be false. The Canadian government must do more to demand justice for Leonard Peltier. The National Union is committed to winning his freedom.
