Winnipeg (5 Oct. 2007) - The Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE) has negotiated a tentative agreement on behalf of administrative employees at the Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation (MASC).
The four-year agreement, retroactive to March 2006, includes three annual raises of 2.5% followed by a 2.9% increase in the final year. Fact Sheet - pdf
The bargaining committee was "able to achieve a positive and progressive collective agreement" that the union is recommending that members approve even though "not all demands were met at the table."
"The committee believes the tentative agreement represents positive change for administrative workers at MASC," the union says.
In reaching the agreement, negotiators had to deal with issues involving the amalgamation of the Manitoba Council for International Cooperation (MCIC) and the Manitoba Agricultural Credit Corporation (MACC). Ratification procedures will be carried out during the month of October. NUPGE
