Winnipeg (29 March 2007) - Employees of the Manitoba Gaming Control Commission, represented by the Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE), have ratified a new four-year collective agreement.
Effective from March 18, 2006, to March 26, 2010, the agreement includes four raises totalling 10.4% - a 2.5% general wage increase for all classifications and pay points in the first three years followed by a 2.9% increase in the final year.
Among the changes are increases to the health spending account and drug plan as well as improved mileage and meal rates. All members also now receive up to six weeks of annual vacation, full retirement and layoff severance entitlements and up to five days of family related leave per year (charged against an employee’s sick leave credits).
A copy of the agreement will be posted on the MGEU website and copies will be sent to members in the coming weeks.
