Settlement features improvements and retroactive pay increase
Winnipeg (31 July 2007) - Adjustors employed by the Manitoba Agriculture Services Corp. (MASC) have ratified a new four-year agreement with the province.
The employees are members of the Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE).
The settlement features a number of improvements over the previous tentative agreement, including eligibility arrangements for severance pay and vacation. As of April 2009, the changes will be reflected at the same ranges as those provided to the administration group.
The employer has also agreed to a 4% salary increment, which most employees will qualify for in the first bi-weekly pay period after signing. This will mean a 9% immediate pay increase as well as back pay from March 2006.
The MGEU will now work with the employer to formally sign the agreement. NUPGE
