'We Do Our Best Work Together'
Fredericton (19 August 2008) - The biennial convention of the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees (NBUPPE/NUPGE) will be held in Fredericton Oct. 17-19 at the Delta Hotel.
Members are invited to familiarize themselves with the extensive information now online, including full details on elections, resolutions, financial reports and other materials.
All of this is contained in a publication entitled Me and My Union - We Do Our Best Work Together that can be downloaded from the union web site.
"This convention-style weekend format combines the biennial convention and the component annual meetings together in one weekend," says union president Deborah Lacelle.
"We are expecting a significant membership turnout for our convention weekend and look forward to the increased profile for the organization as well as the increased participation from members."
Registration is limited to 450 attendees so signing up early is encouraged.
One of the convention highlights will be a women's committee breakfast, open to all members, on Sunday morning. The guest speaker will be Dr. Anne-Marie Zajdlik, founder and director of the Masai Centre. NUPGE
