Online registration for the 2010 Constitutional Convention of the National Union of Public and General Employees will be available at convention.nupge.ca.
The National Union of Public and General Employees has tripled in size since our founding in 1976 and we now represent over 340,000 members across the country making us one of the largest labour organizations in Canada. National Union members deliver public services of every kind to Canadians across the country. We also have a large and growing number of members who work for private employers.
Our Triennial Convention, with delegates attending from all of our Component unions, is our supreme governing body. Between Conventions, the National Union’s governing body is the National Executive Board, which is made up of leaders from our Components.
The 2010 Constitutional Convention of the National Union will be hosted by our British Columbia Components, the British Columbia Government and Service Employees’ Union (BCGEU/NUPGE) and the Health Sciences Association of British Columbia (HSABC/NUPGE), at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver. The Convention begins at 9:30 am on Friday, June 18th, 2010 and continues until the conclusion of business on Sunday, June 20th, 2010.
For the Convention, we are providing electronic registration with regard to delegate credentials, rooming lists, and other Convention forms. Of special note, for the convenience of all delegates, we are asking delegates to use ‘scent-free’ products.
Components will be issued a login for access to the 2010 Convention forms.
