Labour Board orders March 1 vote for hospital professionals in Thunder Bay

Toronto (17 Feb. 2017) — Hospital professionals and paramedical employees at St. Joseph's Care Group in Thunder Bay will cast ballots on March 1 to vote on whether to join the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE), the Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB) has ordered.

The upcoming representation vote covers all paramedical and health care professional employees including Audio Technicians, Audiologists, Foot Care Attendants, Chiropodists, Dietitians, Exercise Specialists, Family Therapists, Foot Care Specialists,Hearing Instrument Technicians, Occupational Therapists, Pharmacists, Pharmacist Assistants, Pharmacy Technicians, Psych Associates, Psychologists, Psychometric Technicians, Psychometrists, Physiotherapists, Registered Resource Clinicians, Social Workers, and Speech Language Pathologists employed by St. Joseph's Care Group.

OPSEU/NUPGE currently represents 25,000 hospital professionals in Ontario, under the umbrella of the Hospital Professionals Division (HPD).
