The Heart Month campaign kicked off on Feb. 1 with events in Brandon, Portage la Prairie and Winnipeg.

The Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE) Paramedics of Winnipeg took part in the Winnipeg event in front of the Heart and Stroke Building. On Feb. 2  medics were on hand at nine Boston Pizza locations in Winnipeg, as well as the Selkirk and Portage la Prairie locations. All volunteered as servers during the lunch and dinner shifts for the Tip A Medic fundraiser.

All tips were donated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in support of Heart Month and to help place more automated external defibrillators (AED) in Manitoba.
