New Brunswick Union lends support to N.B. Association of Community Living

Fredericton (31 August 2016) — The New Brunswick Union (NBU/NUPGE) recently gave $12,000 to the New Brunswick Association for Community Living (NBACL) to support its work with, and on behalf of, children and adults with an intellectual disability, as well as their families.

"The NBACL does tremendous work throughout our province," said NBU President Susie Proulx-Daigle. "Being able to give back and support the communities that support us is extremely important to our members. We're so proud to help to the NBACL improve the lives of New Brunswickers."

NBACL offers a myriad of programs across the province, all aimed at improving the lives of people who have an intellectual disability at all ages and stages of life. The work the association does supports people to live, learn, work and actively participate in their communities as valued and contributing members.

NBU/NUPGE considered a "Change Maker" for continued donations

This marks the 6th year the NBU/NUPGE has given a donation of $12,000 to the New Brunswick Association of Community Living. Krista Carr,  executive director of the NBACL, was on hand for the cheque presentation along with Proulx-Daigle.

“This donation is so very much appreciated,” said Carr. “We call donors like the New Brunswick Union our Change Makers because they give us the means to change lives, and whole communities, so that people with an intellectual disability can get the support they need to live ordinary lives, just like you and me."
