The offer was communicated to the union during a conciliation meeting held on November 30 with the parties.

Members will vote on the offer by mail. Results will be tabulated by the end of January 2013.

The offer includes wage increases of two per cent in November 2011, 2.5 per cent in November 2012 and three per cent in November 2013, which is the pattern established at other bargaining tables. Also included were improvements to job security language and adjustments to certain job classifications.

The union had proposed a long service increment (after 25 years of employment) but the employer did not include that language in its proposed settlement.

NSGEU/NUPGE will be conducting information sessions in early January 2013 for members in order to have all questions answered prior to voting.
