OPSEU members at the Clarendon Foundation ratify agreement

Support workers at the Clarendon Foundation achieve improved wages and working conditions through bargaining.

Toronto (3 Jan. 2012) - Members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/NUPGE) ratified a new two-year agreement with the Clarendon Foundation in downtown Toronto.

A negotiated settlement was ratified on December 16, 2011. The new contract is retroactive to April 1, 2011 and expires March 31 2013.

Job security and layoff language were key gains, as were a general wage increase of two per cent for April 1, 2011 and 1.5 per cent for April 1, 2012.

The agreement includes a number of improvements for part-time workers, including a 0.5 per cent vacation pay increase. Of the 65 members at The Clarendon Foundation, less than a third have full-time work.

Workers at the Clarendon Foundation provide support services to people with disabilities, enabling them to live independently in their community.
