Tentative deal for Nurses' Bargaining Association

Ratification ballots are being distributed across British Columbia this week and must be returned by April 3.

Vancouver (19 March 2009) - A tentative deal to extend the provincial contract of the Nurses' Bargaining Association (NBA) has been reached in British Columbia.

The Health Sciences Association of British Columbia (HSABC/NUPGE) represents more than 800 registered psychiatric nurses covered by the NBA agreement. HSABC's nurses will vote on the tentative deal by mail. Ballots are going out this week and must be returned to the HSABC office by April 3.

"While there is no general wage increase, the 24-month extension provides a 3% labour market adjustment in 2010 and in 2011. That’s in addition to the 4.2% wage increase already negotiated and scheduled for April 1," the union says.
